Driven by a rugged brass gear and equipped with a hardened-steel cutter, this wall-mounted can opener opens any can with a smooth, powerful action. Even with badly dented cans, the cutter won't skip as it's cranked around the can's top. Built to last, the opener attaches to its bracket (included, along with four screws) with a slide-out pin so the opener can be removed for cleaning. Once mounted, the opener locks in any of three positions for ease of use and swings flat to the wall either right or left for convenience. Perpendicular to a wall, the opener sticks out 7 inches. It carries a five-year warranty against defects.

“This can opener makes opening cans a breeze. The longer arms give you move leverage when piercing the can and the long crank arm easily finishes off the task. You really don't need much physical strength or force to use it, unlike most can openers. However, you pay it in flexibility. It is not a small can opener and most standard sized cans have to be opened on the edge of a table or counter so that the crank arm does not hit the counter top. (see my video review) It seem ideal for opening large #10 cans (though I haven't tried any yet) or people who lack strength in their hands or just don't like to grimace every time they think about opening a can!”

If you know anyone who has arthritis or other problems in their hands or wrists this is the can opener for them. My mom who can't use any cans openers loves this as well. “I don't like electric can openers so I am always looking for a nice manual one. I've purchased a couple of really expensive European models from specialty cooking stores (I love those places but I tend to spend a lot of money on impulse and then I don't always use the things that I buy).
